Who This Course Is For

This course is intended for medical assistant graduates who completed an approved medical assistant program that did not include supervised, hands-on clinical or laboratory practice as part of the curriculum. Some programs offer an optional externship; many graduates are not required to complete one and finish their program without ever performing hands-on clinical skills under supervision. This bootcamp closes that gap.

Day 1

Infection control, vital signs, patient handling & positioning, patient safety, and venipuncture (part 1 of 2).

Day 2

Venipuncture (part 2 of 2), capillary puncture, injections, and EKG.

Day 3

CPR/BLS certification, first aid, and rotating skills checkoff stations.

Certificate

Students who complete all three days and pass every required clinical skills checkoff receive a Bootcamp MA Hands-On Clinical Skills Bootcamp Certificate of Completion.

Full Course Outline

  • Day 1: Infection control, patient handling & positioning, vital signs, patient safety, and venipuncture (part 1).
  • Day 2: Venipuncture (part 2), capillary puncture, injections, and EKG training for medical assistants.
  • Day 3: CPR and first aid training for medical assistants, plus rotating skills checkoff stations.

Do I need any prior clinical experience to take this bootcamp?

No. This bootcamp is designed for graduates who completed an approved MA program but did not get supervised hands-on clinical or lab training as part of that program.

How is this different from the Refresher Course?

The Refresher Course includes 4 weeks of didactic review plus a required hands-on weekend, and is built for graduates outside the certification exam eligibility window. The Hands-On Clinical Skills Bootcamp is a stand-alone, 3-day in-person program with no didactic review — it’s built specifically for graduates who need supervised hands-on practice, regardless of exam eligibility.
